I started my massage therapy career not by massage therapy, but a fascination for martial arts. As I was reading up on Aikido (a Japanese martial art) it lead me to another technique of Pressure Point styles of martial arts. The pressure point styles then lead me to Shiatsu massage therapy techniques. While there weren’t any local places to studies formal Aikido, I found a college in Shreveport, Louisiana to studies Shiatsu. I started Blue Cliff College in the summer of 2007. It was a nine-month course where I studied varies types of massage therapy. The general modalities being Swedish, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu Massage, Pre and Post Natal Massage, and Sports Massage. I’ve worked at various location around Louisiana in almost every type of massage therapy scenario possible (Medical, Spa, Resorts, and Fitness Clubs). Some advanced modalities I’m familiar with are Cranial Sacral Therapy, Myofascial Release Technique. Trigger Point Therapy, as well as a forearm style like the Lomi Lomi Massage. I’m currently studying Touch for the Elderly and Seriously Ill.
